CHEManager: Novel pharmaceutical polymers for improved drug formulations

The trade and business newspaper CHEManager features an interview with Prof. Dr. Ulrich S. Schubert, who explains one of NGP Polymers’ goals as follows: “We want to help Germany regain some of its former status as the world’s pharmacy.” In addition, the article describes how NGP Polymers develop novel pharmaceutical polymers under GMP-like conditions to enable drug formulations with improved properties through higher drug loading, better storage stability, and biodegradability. The polymer-based excipients are intended, for example, to facilitate mRNA loading and serve as an alternative to established substances such as PEG.
